  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 3 medium bananas, very ripe and mashed
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the oven and prepare the pan

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter.

Step 2: Make the batter

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and mashed bananas.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Gently stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
